Hey Everyone,

First off, a HUGE thank you to everyone who participated, whether it was by entering the contest, voting, or just getting the word out. We had an incredible turnout for this contest.

So, now that the voting is over and points have been tallied, the following results will be passed on to the Inkscape developers to choose a winner.

Here are the results:

1 - - 26 votes
2 - - 16 votes
3 - - 11 votes

When the developers are done voting, the results will be posted and the authors of the above will be contacted.

Thanks again everyone and we'll be back with an update in a few days!

Don't be a douche.
I think it was a fair decision, besides that, the first one was finally a good cut-away from the those common logos. Finally, something with some fantasy.

I think that Inkscape with this aboutscreen will be introducing soon as toy rather than a serious editor(good though in fact it is not). in 0.47 aboutscreen is perfect.

If you think about this further, Photoshop used to have similar 'About' screens, despite it's a wide used tool. I have also seen 'serious' 'About' screens, where the tool was just plain useless.
It's not the About screen, which should show a tool's capabilities, it's just more like something representative.

You're right, the first one is really not representative of Inkscape possibilities. :hmm: No offense.

The second one is nice but I think it's rather tactless to use a drawing inspired from the Param*unt to illustrate an OpenSource software!... :O_o:

In this perspective the logo for 0.46 was also a bad choice. A logo is just something representative, like a picture on an ID badge. It should not really represent an applications capabilities.
Think on OpenOffice. Should Calc really have a logo of tables, graphs, etc in one small picture? It would not make too much sense.

I agree with you, but I really am not a fan of this first choice... :)

Maybe I will try to create something next time too, maybe it would be a good start moving away of just recreating things, and just creating something original... :)
